Latch needles are most often used on a variety of tricot and raschel warp knitting machines, include single-bar raschel machines and double-bar raschel machines, as well as specific crochet machines.
The latch needle is a self-acting needle, due to its movable latch. It completes loop formations without the assistance of needle closers, but that also means the self-acting latch and curved hook need to support a stronger pressure, and fragile needles if the needles are not stronger with a larger wear resistance. We use high quality steel strips and wires to make every single latch needle, so that the product quality can be assured from the source. Semi-finished latch needles are then treated with quenching and tempering processes for stronger hardness and ductility to prevent breakage. The latch is perfectly shrunk on the needle stem using a pivot pin, which allows a free rotation in both directions.
YS does not only provide individual latch needles, but also provides casted latch needle bars. The needle bars are usually made of tin alloys due to its excellent corrosion and friction resistance, and the casting molds are also designed with an outstanding accuracy to ensure uniform gauge between every single needle.
YS has successfully manufactured a variety of latch needles for a number of different warp knitting machines and crocheting machine brands. You are only asked to provide your model or current using needles, we can ship you free trial YS samples, or we can manufacture specific needles with different hook, latch and butt shapes according to your specific machine models.
